ADeGheest Arts
My artistic focus is on creating stories that trigger within us an emotional response, using creative wildlife compositions or more meditative abstract drawings.
My goal is to create an uplifting “Wow” factor that makes us pause from our busy daily life to reflect and appreciate the beauty of life around us. By zooming in at the Pixel level on my iPad, I achieve high-definition digital drawings that are printed on MetalPrints.™
Anne DeGheest is a San Francisco Bay Area artist.
While growing up in Belgium, her mom was an internationally respected artist that exposed her daughter, not only to the diversity of art forms, but also to the exhibition world in Europe and North America. After moving to the US for graduate school, Anne embarked on an entrepreneurial and investment career in the medical device and healthcare technology fields… leveraging her right brain, creative side, by visualizing and building new medical market applications. Meanwhile, she continued to explore the world using photography as a media to capture the amazing beauty of nature and wildlife.
After her mom passed away, she felt an urge to explore her artistic side after reading the book “Drawing on the Right side of the Brain” by Betty Edwards. Anne started drawing, first with black pencils, then colored ink pens, then watercolor pastel… until she discovered digital drawing with her iPad pencil. Over the last 15 years, Anne expanded her self-taught artistic skills into a unique drawing style. By zooming in at the Pixel level on her iPad, she achieves high-definition images that are printed on MetalPrints,™ a new art medium using dyes directly infused in aluminum sheet under intense heat and pressure. The image is “baked into the metal” with a High Gloss surface coating to protect against scratches, water, and heat.
While creating her art, she enjoys getting In the Flow to reach a deep meditative state that unleashes her creativity to communicate uplifting emotional stories that give us a new perspective on life to better appreciate the beauty of life around us.
